PEDIATRICS What is Pediatric Medicine?

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Pediatrics is by definition a specialty of the practice of medicine that deals with the health and wellness needs of children from birth to adolescence. This includes monitoring the physical, social, and mental health of pediatric patients. Since children are different from adults in the ways they grow and develop psychologically and metabolically, regularly scheduled preventive medical care, properly scheduled vaccinations, and continually monitoring the child’s level of maturation for any abnormalities are all essential.

At Anwan Wellness Medical Center,

Our team of integrative medicine specialists includes pediatricians who have received specialized training in pediatrics. This includes training in preventive medicine and in the diagnosis and treatment of many pediatric disease conditions. Our holistic approach will focus on your child’s overall health as well as on any acute health issues which might develop to help ensure a healthy and long life as they progress into adulthood.
